GEOMETRIC DOODLES

Marbled Furniture Inspired by Sketches

"Doodles are simple drawings that can make sense of concrete representation, or may simply be abstract forms," says Italian designer Roberto Giacomucci about the source of inspiration of one of his latest collections, 'Doodling'. Consisting of white Carrara marble furniture pieces, Giacomucci's 'Doodling' continues the designer's experimentation with merging playful designs with sophisticated materials and forms. Fully made with CNC milling machine 5 axis, the objects were rounded out to contain metal backs made of copper and brass and then finished with a laser cutting machine. The marble the finest in the world was combined with waste marble that came from other processes. 'Doodling' contains a number of tables and shelving solutions, and includes four different designs that come in various sizes and shapes.
