HOUSE OF SILVER

Contemporary Inspirations Reign Supreme

A strikingly modern restaurant in the heart of Seville, Casaplata, designed by Lucas y Hernandez Gil, looks forward and never backward as its charts its own path through the culinary delights of this charming Spanish city.

Lucas y Hernandez Gil is one of Spain's most exciting new architectural and design studios. Founded in 2007, the firm is the result of a collaboration between architects Cristina Dominguez Lucas and Fernando Hernandez Gil. The studio works on architectural projects, as well as on interior and graphic design, seeking a different point of view, merging curiosity, intuition and trade.

This work is imbued with the idea of The Craftsman, as defined by Richard Sennett, and tries to discover a story where all the elements fit together in every project. Casaplata is a restaurant and cocktail bar in the very center of Seville. In this context a lot of restaurants seek inspiration in their historical past, hints of traditions and more. However, after meeting with their clients, the team at Lucas y Hernández Gil decided to look toward the future, avoiding nostalgia and looking for its own, singular image.
