by Draide

To celebrate its 50th Anniversary and the coming anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969, Driade recently announced a special tribute to Man’s lunar endeavors. The designers imagined a lunar setting to be the backdrop for some designer tributes to Driade’s masterpieces. The first outdoor collection on lunar soil will be shown in 3D ’on the moon’, using regolith, an extraordinary substance present on the moon’s surface. Four design icons, authentic bestsellers by Philippe Starck, Naoto Fukusawa and Italian artist and furniture designer Enzo Mari, were exhibited and a short directed by Adriano Valerio on a subject by Gianluigi Ricuperati was shot. driade.com

by Sunbrella and Marc Ange

For this year’s Milan Design Week, Sunbrella once again collaborated with designer and artist Marc Ange to present Le Roi, a monumental installation featuring exclusive designs located in the garden space of Wallpaper Handmade. Ange unveiled Le Roi along with the never before seen Refuge lamps. "In the center of the garden, gold leaf lamps guide you to an elevated room, like an altar, whose walls, floors and ceilings are covered with the same deep blue Sunbrella fabric. At the back of the room, opposite you, sits, as if on a throne, like a king, a giant teddy bear with blue fabric skin. The bear is illuminated by two Refuge Lamps, which are also covered with the same blue fabric, and protected by a small army of Les AraignÊes chairs, still in the same material," said Ange. sunbrella.com, bloomroomstudio.com
