A Taiwanese Home with a Natural Approach

This beautiful, flowing home is found in Taichung, Taiwan and was designed by Very Studio | Che Wang Architects. The apartment was typical of Taiwanese housing developments and was in need of a redesign to create an engaging, contemporary living space. The original design and interior layout did not aid in the circulation of either people, light or air as much of the public space was divided and broken up by the layout of the rooms. Only the southern area of the home enjoyed any sort of opening to the outdoors and the overall design of the home was far from inspired.

A Delicate Palette and Authentic Details

This beautiful apartment is located in the oldest part of Barcelona, in an ancient building that dates back to the 13th century, in the neighborhood known as Born. The brief was to completely transform the old property into new, vibrant apartment, the home of a young Italian woman, a fashion professional. Design firm CaSA took on the brief and the outcome is fantastic. The highly compartmented layout originally included three bedrooms and placed the living and kitchen area in the dark interior of the site. The new arrangement overturns the original layout and enhances the great proportions of the ancient spaces, with high, vaulted ceilings, huge windows and thick walls.

Unity in Design Results in an Incredible Space

This concrete house, built in the 1990s, needed an update. The closed in kitchen created a wall between the living spaces, and the decor, in saturated primary colors, produced a rather cold atmosphere. In 2017, the owners decided to refresh the property with a more contemporary and allencompassing look. This was the challenge taken up by the Desjardins Bherer team.

A Brazilian Home of Elegant Luxury

Named Jaragua, this is a house where the sense of space can be felt throughout. Space was the guiding thread in this architecture and interior project by Fernanda Marques; Marques sought to meet the brief of a young couple with two children who are now the happy occupants of this comfortable property built along contemporary lines, with its three floors and an area of 1,200 in Alphaville, a residential district in the outskirts of Sao Paulo in Brazil.

A Home by the Lake Embraces Nature’s Charms

Situated on the Southwest shore of Lake Waconia, this industrial, modern house for a family of eight seeks to celebrate its glorious surroundings through natural materials and dramatic transparency. Located adjacent to a grove of 200 year old oak trees near the shoreline, the house is organized as a bold sculptural response to the lake and trees.

Calm is the Key in a Bespoke Chinese Home

Most of the houses near this Chinese home are decorated in a luxurious style, however, after communicating with the owner, the team from AD Architecture decided upon an advanced and restrained design technique. With the origin of texture as the design concept, the team tried to convey the owner’s desire for an original state of life through different textures, in order to help him return to a comfortable and natural living environment.
