A Restaurant for Kids Inspires Creativity

     Chinese firm Wutopia Lab was commissioned by food and beverage firm Aranya to renovate part of a club house into a restaurant for kids. The overall aim was to create a ’Neverland’ for kids in an area of less than 1,000 square meters. The team aimed to design a space that loses any distinct material texture and spatial orientation. Each area is unique in terms of size and texture, the result of which is to encourage visitors to relax and experience the space.
   
A New Office Amid a Rich History

     In a mere three months, Czech architectural firm Kurz Architekti had to create new offices for their clients Czech Promotion, a leading communications agency. The new office was located in the incredible Karlin Palace, a landmark within the Czech Republic’s capital. The lack of time shaped the design itself, as well as the method of collaboration with the client and contractors and soon absolute trust emerged among the various parties. Working at such a speed was risky, but at the same time intensely motivating to all involved. The end result made it all worthwhile.
   
A Preview Unit Explores Options in Toronto

     A recent winner at the World Interior News Awards, Cecconi Simone Inc.’s presentation center for Waterworks, a mixed use condominium project in downtown Toronto, offered a fleeting glimpse of beauty and a preview of what’s to come.
   
Contemporary Arabesque from ID Beirut

     Designed by ID Beirut’s Jean Bou Doumit, a new reference restaurant in the Lebanese city of Tyre, named Marjouha, transforms traditional Arab design into a contemporary space. Jean Doumit is the architect and interior designer behind ID Beirut. Bou Doumit sees design as a reunion of architecture, arts and human psychology, a space where a client’s dreams can be turned into reality. Bou Doumit’s designs work with his clients and have resulted in wonderful projects from private residences, public spaces and hospitality venues.
